Have a Home

Affordable housing in a city is basically an oxymoron these days. Young professionals are increasingly being pushed to their limits just to afford their first home in an urban centre. It’s not right.

One of the single most compelling features of our region is our shockingly reasonable real estate. You can live comfortably here. Heck, you can live really comfortably here. In our small towns and our more remote locations, home ownership is absolutely possible. And think of the all the invisible reasons, too: laundry drying on the line, cardinals singing during the day and owls at night, freshly mown grass on the air.

We could go on and on, but let’s just say this: if you’re craving summer barbeques on your back deck, more outdoor space for your kids to work up a nap in, or simply a place to put down some real roots, maybe it’s time to consider a move.

Let the house hunting begin.

We acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) People first signed with the British Crown in 1725. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.
